- Tuna, snowcrab, shrimp – Profits from these species are reinvested into the Ugpi’Gan’Jig First Nation Band Office to cover costs of operations of the department.
- Lobster, herring, smelts, salmon – These species are fished by local fishers. Profits are kept by the community fishermen of these species.
The Fisheries Department oversees the management of fishing and fishing related activities for the commercial and communal fishing for the Ugpi’ganjig First Nation. The department prides itself on strict compliance with all maritime safety standards.
