PSE Application Information & Student Handbook

May 3, 2021

Dear Students,

I just want to remind you that I am now accepting the PSE applications for the upcoming 2021-2022 fall and winter semesters. For those of you returning in the fall, please send in your PSE application as soon as possible. Please disregard this reminder if you have already submitted your fall and winter application.

Applications received after the June 15th deadline will be considered only after all others are processed and the availability of funds is secured. It is recommended that all applicants do not withhold their applications pending receipt of the required supporting documentation (i.e., letters of acceptance, transcripts, letter of extension, etc.). Applications may be submitted without these documents; however, all supporting documentation must be submitted before final approval is granted. (Student Handbook, page 12).

I also want to remind students that you are REQUIRED to read the NSMDC PSE Student handbook that is on our website. Students are responsible to be knowledgeable of the North Shore Micmac District Council’s Post-Secondary Education policies and guidelines as outlined in the handbook. I have attached the student handbook.

If you have completed your studies and are graduating this spring/summer, please contact me as soon as possible as you are eligible for a Grad Award. The Grad Award is based on the duration of your program and it is deposited into your account upon receipt of your request for a Grad Award and your final “official” transcript.

I want to encourage you to take the time to apply for scholarships/bursaries that are available to you. The Indspire scholarship application is posted on their website at www.indspire.ca. This search tool http://www.aadnc-aandc.gc.ca/bursaries provides links to Aboriginal bursaries organized by region, by program and by institution. There is lots of PSE support out there for you, so please apply.

Please feel free to call me if you have any questions. 506-627-4611, ext. 104

Hazel Francis
