Update from Child and Family Services regarding additional response measures.

April 30th, 2020

To: Community Members and Staff

From: Child & Family Services

Response Measures: COVID-19

Dear Community Members and Staff;

Child & Family Services will continue to be closed to limit the transmission of COVID-19. This directive will continue to be in effect with an anticipated return to normal operating hours on May 19th, 2020. Should we continue to be in a state of emergency leading up to May 19th, 2020 the situation will be reassessed by the Chief and Council and Senior Staff members which may result in further closures. These steps are in place to assure all community members and staff’s safety and wellbeing.

Essential Child Protection Services will be available by contacting our on-call services at 987-9911. We are doing well as a province in containing this pandemic, this is due to the safety measures in place. I encourage everyone to continue to follow all recommendations from public health officials as they have given us positive results in preventing the transmission of COVID-19. Together we can make the difference.

Please do not hesitate to contact Child and Family Services with respect to any concerns you may have. Bonnie Martin and I will be at the office on May 5th, 2020 and May 12th, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. to accept, process and distribute regular payments.

I thank everyone for your patience and support during these difficult times.
