Team NB Update on 2027 NAIG

Team New Brunswick Statement and Update on NAIG 2027

Team New Brunswick is sharing an important update regarding the 2027 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG).
The NAIG Council has decided to remove hosting rights from Calgary, Alberta, for the 2027 Games. This change comes after certain requirements between the NAIG Host Society, Calgary, and the NAIG Council were not met within the agreed-upon timelines.

While a new host city is being identified, Team New Brunswick remains focused on preparing our athletes for the chance to compete in 2027. Our commitment to their training, development, and success has not changed. Sport has the power to bring people together, inspire future generations, and strengthen the bonds within our communities.

We thank our communities for their patience and continued encouragement. We will share more details as soon as the NAIG Council confirms the next steps for the 2027 Games.
