Important Notice to Fall Fishing Harvesters

Eel River Bar Chief and Council submitted a request to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) for a one-week extension to the Fall fishery, until October 23, 2026. Unfortunately, this request was denied.

As a result, Chief and Council are asking all Fall Fishing Harvesters to begin retrieving their lobster gear immediately.

Safety remains the top priority. If you are unable to safely retrieve your gear, please contact the Eel River Bar Fisheries Department to make arrangements for safe retrieval.
