Chief and Council Enforce Eviction Order to Protect Community Safety
Chief and Council acted today on enforcing an eviction order at 26 Sunset Drive by boarding up the doors and windows. The current owner has been consistently uncooperative and unwilling to acknowledge the harm to the community their lifestyle creates
We felt it was necessary to take this action due to the numerous complaints from community members regarding their own safety and that of their families. This residence has become a den for violent offenders and drug trafficking – both of which violate the terms of ERB’s housing and community safety policies.
We recognize this issue extends far beyond this one residence and there are on-going efforts to address those other community members working with drug traffickers to pollute our community making their neighborhoods unsafe for ERB families.
Moving forward, ERB Housing department will take actions to repair the damages to the residence. Once that is done a family will be placed in this residence.
Should any community member like to ask questions feel free to contact chief and council directly or through the executive assistant.
