Update from Chief Sacha (community recovery transition to orange level)

Dear Ugpi’ganjig community members;
In light of the recent rise of COVID-19 cases in the Province of New Brunswick, all Zones within the province will be transitioning back to the Orange Phase of Recovery effective midnight tonight.
As a result of this announcement, the Eel River Bar First Nation will be transitioning to the Orange Phase (Fox) of the ERBFN Recovery Phases at midnight tonight and reduced hours of operation will commence on Monday, January 11th, 2021.
During this time the delivery of essential services will be as follows.
- Band Administration Building: Operating hours will be Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 to 4:00 (Commencing January 11th, 2021) . The main phone line will be accessible on Tuesday and Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. by calling 684-6277.
- Health Department:The Health Department will issue a separate memo with current updates and decisions.
- Social Assistance: Social Assistance payments will be delivered on Wednesday, January 6th, and January 20th @ the regularly scheduled time and place. (Physical Distancing and Face Masks will be required.) Should you have any questions, please contact Susan LaBillois @ 685-0770.
- Child and Family Services: The Child and Family Services Department will issue a separate memo with current updates and decisions.
- Education: The Education Department will remain open with guidelines as per the recovery plan.
- Daycare:The Daycare will remain open with guidelines as per the recovery plan.
- Eel River Bar Gym:The Eel River Bar Gym will remain closed to the public until further notice.
- Osprey Truck Stop and Gaming Facility: The Osprey Truck Stop Convenience Store, CRT, Restaurant and Gaming Facility will remain open and under the guidelines of the Province of NB Operational Guidelines unless otherwise directed.
- Eel River Bar Chase the Ace: Operation measures to be determined and communicated by the Board of Directors.
We will continue to make necessary adjustments in order to protect both the community and staff.
As a reminder, we encourage all community members to:
- Continue to follow all health care protocols in respect to COVID-19
- To stay home if you are feeling unwell
- To be tested if you have any symptoms
- To notify your immediate supervisor or the community health nurse if you have been exposed to COVID-19 and are required to self-isolate.
- Be kind to one another
