The Housing Department Welcomes Dustin Simonson

The Housing Department would like to give a big, warm, welcome to our newest team member, Dustin Simonson.

He is the Tenant Relations Officer and is with us for a 19-week internship. We are excited to have him with us and look forward to seeing the positive impact he, and this new position, will have on Housing’s service delivery.

The role of the Tenant Relations Officer is to be the direct point of contact for day-to-day interactions with the general public. Dustin will handle incoming work order/maintenance calls, home visits/inspections, maintain positive relations with community members, etc. He is the new face to Housing, and we hope you are as thrilled as we are.

Please note that he is only on day 2 of his new position. He is anxious to get started and start interacting with you all, but he has much to learn and may not have all the answers to all the questions, just yet. We ask for your patience and understanding, as he settles into his new position and that you allow him the opportunity to take the time to find the proper responses, if he should not have them at your time of call. With that being said, you can begin reaching out, directly, to the Tenant Relations Officer (Dustin) for all of your maintenance requests. You may do so by contacting reception, at 506-684-6277, and requesting his extension.

We also want to inform that although all maintenance requests are important, and valued, Housing is currently prioritizing major Health & Safety maintenance as top of the list. All requests remain in cue, and on record. Although your maintenance request may not be able to be addressed, immediately, we do encourage you to continue to contact Housing with all requests so that we can have them on record. Having proper Housing maintenance data allows us to make informed financial forecasts. We look forward to budgeting exercises, where your Housing team will aim to allocate resources to a wider spectrum of needs, in the future.

Last, we want to note that Housing has changed office location. Our offices are now located at the other end of the building, where Child & Family were located. You must still use the main entrance access point and be buzzed up by reception. This will change in the future once proper lock/entry systems are installed on the doors located off the daycare. We will provide updates when that time comes.

Thank you for taking the time to read, and our Tenant Relations Officer looks forward to hearing from you.
