artsnb | Equinox Online Information Sessions for Indigenous Artists

As part of artsnb‘s ongoing commitment to supporting Indigenous artists in developing stronger and more competitive applications, they invite you to join one of their upcoming Equinox Online Information Sessions.
Each session will be led by Emilio Bonnell, artsnb’s Indigenous Outreach Liaison, and will include an artsnb program officer and a guest artist who has received the Equinox Award and later served as a jury member. Drawing on their experiences as both applicant and juror, they will offer practical insights into the application process and how submissions are evaluated.
Upcoming sessions:
• 6-8 pm – July 15, 2026 – with artist Emma Hassencahl-Perley
• 6-8 pm – August 13, 2026 – with artist Melcolm Beaulieu
Participants will have the opportunity to learn:
✅ What makes an application stand out.
✅ Common challenges and how to avoid them.
✅ Tips for clearly presenting your artistic practice and project goals.
✅ Insights from artists who have experienced the process from both the applicant and jury perspectives.
Whether you are preparing your first application or looking to strengthen a future submission, these sessions are designed to provide practical guidance and support.
We encourage you to register and take advantage of this opportunity to learn directly from experienced Indigenous artists who understand the process firsthand.
