Message from Capital, Housing & Infrastructure
We have some wonderful news to share! The roof repairs for the Canada Games side of the building will begin next week! This is long overdue and has been on our list of needed repairs for many years. We are excited to see it finally happen.
During time of construction, on the North side of the building, the parks will be closed off for safety purposes. They will reopen when construction moves to the West side of the building. During the life of the construction phase, the 4 parking spots located off the headstart/daycare park will be utilized for material storage.
We ask that you respect the closing of parks and parking spaces and refrain from being in the general area.
We also want to update you on the ramp for the main entrance. We have 7 companies ready to bid! Bids will be accepted and a contract will be awarded once the tendering process closes. Due to the time of year and the nature of the work (concrete), construction will only take place in early June.
The Capital, Housing & Infrastructure Department will keep you updated as projects progress, and/or if there is any updates regarding public safety.
Wela’lin – Thank you
