Update from Child & Family Services regarding transition to Community Recovery red phase

January 8th, 2021

To: Community Members and Staff

From: Child & Family Services

Response Measures: COVID-19

Dear Community Members and Staff;

We currently have 3 or more Community Members directed by Public Health to self-isolate. As per Eel River Bar’s recovery phases, this has triggered Eel River Bar into the red phase (MOOSE). Child & Family Services will therefore be closed for the next 14 days with an anticipated return to work on January 25th, 2021. The Pandemic Response Team will re-evaluate the risks prior to January 22nd, 2021 and will provide further direction on operations moving forward. These measures are in place to protect all Community Members during these unprecedented times.

Essential Child Protection Services will continue to be available by contacting our on-call number at 987-9911. Bonnie Martin and I will be at the office on January 14th, 2021 and January 21st, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. to accept, process and distribute regular payments.

Please do not hesitate to contact Child & Family Services with respect to any concerns you may have.

I thank everyone for your patience and support during these difficult times. Please keep following directives from the Ugpi’Ganjig Health Center and Public Health.

Sincerely,

Schawn Boucher

Director Child & Family Services
