Important community and staff notice;
The Eel River Bar First Nation is taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our community members and staff members due to a potential COVID-19 exposure within the community. All Eel River Bar First Nation buildings and operations will be closed effectively immediately until further notice. We will be monitoring the situation and providing updates as soon as they are made available to us.
We are asking that all community members and staff members remain extremely vigilant, continue practicing social distancing, proper hand sanitation, cough or sneeze into knee of elbow, routinely disinfect frequently touched surfaces, wear a community face mask when social distance isn’t possible.
Should you experience any of the following symptoms, please contact the Community Health Nurse at (506-686-0667) or Tele-care 811.
- Fever above 38 degrees Celsius;
- A new cough, or worsening chronic cough;
- Sore throat;
- Runny nose;
- A new onset of fatigue;
- A new onset of muscle pain;
- loss of sense of taste;
- loss of sense of smell;
- In children, purple markings on the fingers and toes;
- difficulty breathing;
At this point in time there are no confirmed cases in Eel River Bar First Nation or Zone 5. However, we are taking these precautionary measures while we continue to assess the risk associated to a potential exposure of COVID-19.
